Suwanee River State Park

Nice trails and park. The facilities were nice and clean. There was a playground by the campground and the park facilities were great for picnicing and group activities. Unfortunately the river was 12' higher than normal and some of the trails were closed.

Manatee Springs

Manatee Springs was awesome. It was closed to boating until March 31st because of the manatees. They like to come up the warm spring in the winter. At 72 degrees the water feels cold, unless it is colder outside. We saw plenty of wildlife, deer would come right up to the campsite. A word of caution, beware the water moccasins. They blend in so well when lying on a branch. Normally they won't bother you, it is you that bothers them by not seeing them when grabbing a branch. They facilities were nice and clean. Plenty of areas to hike and bike.

Rodman Dam (Cross Florida Greenway)

The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to the St Johns River. It is in the process of becoming a state park. The park is located  close to Palatka. You can bicycle, hike, fish and use recreational vehicles. You could moor a boat right at the campgrounds. The facilities were nice and clean.

Rodman Dam was really nice with picnic facilities and fishing seemed a popular activity. Downtown Palatka was fun, lots of craft stores and boothes were set up on the weekend. There was also a car show that the boys enjoyed.
Palatka is also known as the city of murals. They have over a dozen in the downtown area.
