Fort Clinch

January 21st we arrived at Fort Clinch Park around 6 pm Friday night. George had called ahead that we were running late as the gates close at 7 pm. We camped at the Atlantic Beach Site. The campground facilities had men's, women's and  family restrooms with showers. Everything looked new and very clean. and . A washer/dryer and vending drink machine were also available.

There were around 25 camper back in sites with water, electric a picnic table and fire pit. Trash and dump site were conveniently located and accessible. The view was magnificent.

The only disappointment was the boardwalk to the beach was closed for renovations until May 2014. There were nice hiking and biking trails. The fishing pier was a short drive from camp.We saw several deer and a dolphin on our walk on the pier. We only saw a small part of what the park has to offer and plan on this being one of our favorite parks to stay at. Cost was $23 per night.
